Regardless of whether it rains or not, keep your sprinklers on and set to water at least twice a week for 45-60 minutes per zone as permitted by the watering restrictions in your area. Set them to water early enough so that all zones have finished their cycle by 9:30am. Watering after 9:30am through the heat of the day will cause you to lose quite a bit of the water to evaporation. Check your sprinkler heads at least once every month to ensure they are covering all the areas properly and not in need of adjustment. If you notice browning areas or thinning areas, the sprinkler head may need to be adjusted to provide more water to that area, especially if it has full sun exposure. It is also important that you don’t water in the evening because it can promote fungus.
